willaby create beautifully simple, yet special, ethically and sustainably made heirloom quality blankets and more. The items created by this US design studio showcase the beauty of natural materials and handcrafting, each one of the highest quality. Perfect for newborns, most pieces are designed for use through childhood and all are designed to be passed on - or kept and treasured.
We are in love with willaby’s stunning heirloom blankets. Made from eight layers of unbleached cotton gauze, with wonderful loft and softness, they are perfect for a cot or bed – they’re generously sized to ensure little ones can enjoy them for years to come. They feature organic and naturally dyed fabrics - a cornerstone of this collection. The colour palette is soft yet has depth, with coloured fabrics hand-dyed by willaby founder Kim in her home. This handcrafting results in variations in tone and surface appearance, meaning no two items are alike -- each one is truly unique.
You’ll find the same beautiful gauze and colours in the gorgeous yet utilitarian, burp cloths, in the super-soft, generously-sized swaddle blankets and the versatile, comforting teether blankies. In addition to these essentials, willaby also offer gorgeous layette clothing including kimono shirts, harem pants, flannel bonnets and bloomers – again pairing quality soft fabrics and perfectly simple design.
willaby is the creation of artist and home-taught sewer Kim Woods. Based in Georgia, almost all items are sewn locally by skilled craftspeople (with some blankets sewn by Kim’s own mother, an Ohio-based quilter) and sustainability is at the forefront of this brand’s practice. willaby support textile companies paying a fair wage, providing safe working conditions and treating our environment with care. They practice a no-waste policy, recycling all packaging and turning fabric scraps from the manufacturing process into giftwrap.
“These blankets and accessories are SO sweet! I love them!!”
